October 27, 2026 | Mursla Bio publishes peer-reviewed validation of its liver-focused extracellular vesicle liquid biopsy platform; new products from GE HealthCare and Geneoscopy; and more.

Geneoscopy announced ColoSense NextStep, an opt-in patient navigation program for people with a positive result from its ColoSense colorectal cancer screening test, aimed at helping patients complete the recommended follow-up colonoscopy within 90 days. For enrolled providers, consenting patients are contacted by text, email, or phone by the NextStep Clinical Support Team, which provides general education on follow-up colonoscopy, answers questions about next steps, helps identify practical barriers and, on request, shares information about nearby gastroenterology providers and transportation resources. The cost is included with each ColoSense order. NextStep does not provide medical advice, schedule procedures, or make referrals. ColoSense is an FDA-approved multi-target stool RNA test for average-risk adults 45 and older, available nationwide through Labcorp. Press release.

GE HealthCare announced LOGIQ Focus, a general imaging ultrasound system in its LOGIQ family that pairs imaging with AI-enabled automation and productivity tools. Built on cSound Architecture, the system includes speckle reduction imaging, multi-purpose and specialty probes, a High Definition Ultrasound display and flow visualization, and works with the Vscan Air CL wireless probe. Auto Preset Assistant detects the scanned anatomy and selects the matching preset, AutoEF measures ejection fraction automatically, and Scan Assistant guides users through exam protocols. Liver tools include Ultrasound-Guided Fat Fraction and 2D shear wave elastography. In a third-party study of right upper quadrant exams, 90% of participants rated image quality as excellent, and in an abdominal comparison the system was 26% faster than its predicate. LOGIQ Focus is 510(k) cleared and CE marked. Press release.

Brainomix announced a partnership with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) to involve patients and caregivers in exploring how AI-powered imaging could support care for people with pulmonary fibrosis and other fibrotic interstitial lung diseases. The multi-phase initiative will study the use of Brainomix 360 e-Lung, an FDA-cleared and CE-marked tool that automatically quantifies and visualizes radiographic features on lung CT scans, within clinicians' assessment workflows. It will examine what patients want to know, how they respond to visual and quantitative outputs, where e-Lung may add the most value, and how imaging insights could inform decisions to start, continue, or change treatment. The PFF will draw on its patient and caregiver community and its Care Center Network. The program is part of PROGRESS-PPF, a research initiative between Brainomix and Boehringer Ingelheim. Press release.

Labcorp announced the launch of the Thrive 5 Health Test, a consumer lab test offered in collaboration with Thrive Global, the behavior change company founded by Arianna Huffington. The test measures five cardiometabolic indicators: ApoB, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), HbA1c, blood pressure and body mass index. After receiving results, consumers get educational content from Thrive Global and recommended Thrive Microsteps, small daily actions related to food, movement, sleep, stress management, and connection. Results, content, and Microsteps are delivered through Labcorp's patient portal and the MyLabcorp mobile app. Consumers buy the test through Labcorp OnDemand and are tested at select Labcorp patient service centers nationwide. The program is intended for general wellbeing and information and is not a substitute for a healthcare provider. Press release.

Mursla Bio announced the publication of a peer-reviewed study in the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles validating its tissue-specific extracellular vesicle (TS-EV) platform for liquid biopsy, starting with the liver. Using its NEXPLOR technology, the company enriched hepatocyte-derived EVs (h-EVs) from plasma samples of under 2 mL from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients with cirrhosis and healthy donors, and compared them with bulk EVs from the same samples. h-EVs identified 57% more proteins than bulk EVs and revealed 86 proteins uniquely detected or increased in liver disease, compared with four for bulk EVs. h-EVs also resolved HCC-defining proteins separating HCC from cirrhosis, and their microRNAs mapped to HCC signaling. The platform underpins EvoLiver, which holds FDA Breakthrough Device designation. Press release.

Amprion announced the publication of a peer-reviewed study in npj Parkinson's Disease showing that its skin-based α-synuclein seed amplification assay (skin SAA) can distinguish multiple system atrophy (MSA) from neuronal synuclein diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), using skin biopsy samples. Skin SAA results showed strong agreement with matched cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) results. Further analyses showed strong skin–CSF agreement in prodromal PD, skin SAA positivity rising as PD progresses, and high agreement in DLB samples from international research collaborations. In blinded comparator samples, no skin-positive case tested CSF-negative. Skin SAA is currently available for research use, and Amprion plans to pursue U.S. clinical commercialization within the next 12 months. Its clinically available SAAmplify-αSYN Plus test analyzes CSF. Press release.
