Microbialtec Releases Culture Medium to Support Microbial Research

Lennox LB is a highly-referenced microbial growth medium used for the cultivation of E. coli. This nutrient-rich microbial broth contains peptides, amino acids and carbohydrates in a low-salt formulation.

 

Miller′s LB is a highly-referenced microbial growth medium used for the cultivation of E. coli. This nutrient-rich microbial broth contains peptides, amino acids, water-soluble vitamins, and carbohydrates.

 

Alkaline Peptone Water is recommended for the enrichment and isolation of Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio species.

 

Peptone Transport Medium is employed for the safe collection, transport and preservation of cholera organisms.

 

Anaerobic culture media is a source of reducers such as cysteine. Anaerobically sterilized and pre-reduced media are made with prolonged shelf lives that range from 6 months.

 

Bile Salt Agar is recommended for the isolation and enumeration of bile-tolerant enteric bacilli. The medium contains peptone and HM extract.

 

Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Salts Sucrose Agar (TCBS Agar) is used for the selective isolation of cholera vibrios and Vibrio parahaemolyticus from a variety of clinical and nonclinical specimens. Vibrio species are most widely recognized for their role in human intestinal infections.

 

Bile Esculin Agar (BEA) is a selective differential agar used to isolate and identify members of the genus Enterococcus.

 

Cefoxitin Cycloserine Egg-Yolk Agar is made selective by the inclusion of Cefoxitin and D-Cycloserine and Egg Yolk emulsion is added to differentiate Clostridium difficile.

 

The cefsulodin irgasan novobiocin (CIN) agar has been formulated for the detection of Yersinia enterocolitica.
