Boston, MA – (05 August, 2021) – NanoImaging Services, Inc., the premier industry provider of cryoEM services, microscope access and training, has hired its first Chief Operating Officer as the company continues to grow rapidly in response to increasing demand for cryoEM imaging services within the life sciences sector.

In his new role, Brian Conkle will oversee the day-to-day running of the company, and lead on the execution of the organization's strategy, working closely with company founder and CEO, Clint Potter. Conkle brings with him a wealth of experience within life sciences, both as a business leader and entrepreneur, with particular success leading growth-focused organizations and building companies.

“I am excited to join NanoImaging Services in this phase of growth and expansion," said Conkle. “I look forward to working with the talented and dedicated team at NIS as we continue building the largest and most comprehensive provider of TEM, cryoEM and microED services, supporting our clients with exceptional customer service and delivering valuable scientific insight to the industrial life science market.”

“This is an exciting time in our history and makes our ambitions clear,” added Clint Potter, founder and CEO of NanoImaging Services. “We are committed to supporting our customers and advancing cryoEM technology and access. Our continued expansion highlights the excellent work of our teams and the demand for our expertise. I am delighted that Brian has joined our team as our first Chief Operating Officer; Brian is an experienced site manager with a track record of building successful companies and a proven ability to develop practical solutions to challenging problems.”

Conkle is one of 15 new employees hired by NanoImaging Services this year, marking a 42 percent increase from the previous year. The company’s recruitment drive is the latest in a series of activities designed to increase NanoImaging Services’ capacity and expertise, fueled primarily by growing markets in structure-based drug design and in drug delivery, and a rise in biotech and pharmaceutical companies seeking advanced imaging techniques to help answer complex scientific questions in a more cost- and time-efficient manner. In 2020, the business opened the world’s largest private facility for cryoEM data collection in San Diego, and another in Boston. Earlier this year, it began testing its new Chameleon from SPT Labtech for next generation cryoEM sample vitrification and recently completed the setup for its second Glacios microscope at the company’s client center in Woburn.

Since its launch in 2007, NanoImaging Services has established itself as a leading supplier of TEM and cryoTEM services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nanotechnology communities. Working closely with clients, NanoImaging Services’ teams leverage their extensive expertise and technical support for improved structural analysis, helping clients save both time and money. In particular, its cryoEM and negative stain workflows are used by leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostics companies, as well as by academic researchers worldwide.
